Easy to use PayPal Mobile

KODIME is pleased to announce it has added PayPal Mobile as a payment gateway to its range of STARtxt software products. Being a certified PayPal Mobile merchant now enables clients to offer this important and easy to use payment option to their customers, when these are buying digital items such as downloads in STARtxt-powered mobile storefronts.

PayPal Mobile complements the existing options such as premium SMS for mobile payments, and is offered as a free upgrade to all accounts.

Google Android phone by HTC

A prototype of Google's new Android mobile phone technology has gone on show at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Android is a free software system based on Linux open-source technology, and some believe may shake up the handset industry when released to the wider public, expected end 2008.

Google has teamed with a large group of mobile-handset makers and other technology companies to make mobile-phone software. It appears from currently available information that the software is a direct rival to Nokia's S60 platform.

Google has made software applications that allow internet searching via mobile phones for some years, but the new software will run the actual operating system of the phone, which controls applications and interacts with the hardware, and so allow for more advanced options.

Easier importing

A new wizard-style module to facilitate direct data imports into PROPtxt, ZOOMtxt and STARtxt has been released, and all customer accounts are being upgraded automatically.

With the new wizard, importing both simple lists and more complex multi-category spreadsheets is even easier, with more control.

Any standard CSV or Excel file, for example containing contacts from an external CRM system, can be uploaded and the PROPtxt, ZOOMtxt, STARtxt software will automatically recognize the format, columns and headers and suggest matching data fields. These can also be chosen from a dropdown list.

Contacts can be imported into existing or new groups, and existing contacts will be automatically updated with new fields and profile data.

Benefits of the new module include:

Simple three stage process for importing contact data from 10 to >10k
Now directly accepts XLS (Excel) file types
Automatically strips all erroneous characters from any given mobile number
Ability to select in detail which fields to import and what content those fields represent
Import into any custom fields specified
