• Do you deliver my content to iTunes etc?
  Sorry no. STARtxt is all about direct to consumer selling.
• Do you have an office in the US?
  Not at this time, but we speak English and STARtxt is fully connected with the US carriers.
• How many users can I have on my account?
  Unlimited! Just ask support to add a username and email address, and it shall be done.
• How can I capture more contacts and build my list?
  

  STARtxt has built-in tools to help you generate and manage new contacts, for marketing and sales. All versions include a basic web registration form which you add to your website, MySpace page and similar, to let your audience instantly sign up for SMS alerts.

  You can additionally sign up contacts from any flyer, poster, ticket, CD, by asking them to send your keyword to your shortcode number, for example "Send CRAZE to 72648" with Craze being that band's name.

• Can I send SMS messages to my fans?
  

  Yes of course. It's a key feature of STARtxt that it is not only a great store, but has all the marketing tools to keep your audience informed, and drive follow-up sales.

  All buyers are automatically added to your contacts, and you can register new contacts also by SMS and the built-in website registration forms.

• Which keyword will I get for my STARtxt account?
  This depends on your chosen version, either "STARyourname" or "yourname", subject to availability.
• Do I need carrier approval for my STARtxt service (US)?
  

  If you use our standard product in the way it is intended to be used, say selling tones at $1.99 or downloads of wallpapers, you do not need separate clearance.

  If you wish to use more complex, newer scenarios, then please contact us so we can discuss details. We can help you to secure carrier approval for your service, whether running on our own shortcodes or one that you have registered.

• Do you handle my music/media rights?
  

  STARtxt is software as a service, and we do not license, take licenses or provide any content rights or take on any responsibility for such content rights, be they downloads, ringtones, user generated content or other.

  You can only use STARtxt if you own and control your uploaded content, or if you have secured the required licenses to promote and sell such content. If in doubt check with a lawyer.

• I have little time and limited experience with digital - is it for me?
  

  Our users are almost all non-tech "normal" people who manage bands, run marketing and promotion, update their websites.

  If you can handle MySpace and a web browser, you're good enough for STARtxt. And of course we provide unlimited technical support, should you get stuck.

• Premium SMS, Mobile Internet, Carriers, Shortcodes.. I am lost - help!
  Each industry has its chosen jargon and terms, and we try to keep it to a minimum - feel free to check out the Mobile Glossary (in Technology section) also on this website, which should help you further.
• Is there a contract to sign?
  

  When opening an account and logging on to STARtxt with your user details you are confirming our standard terms of condition for use, which are updated from time to time and listed in your account.

  Lots of standard legal speak, but what matters is that you under no circumstances can use STARtxt to market and sell content that violates copyright, is unsuitable for under 18s, incites racial hatred and so on.

  You are also prohibited from using STARtxt to "spam" contacts that have not explicitly opted-in to receive information fom yourself.

• How do I pay for my STARtxt?
  

  Visit our store, or call our sales line who can take your details over he phone. You can by credit or debit card.

  For PRO and SUITE version accounts we also offer invoicing and bank transfer options.

• What happens when I cancel my account?
  We will confirm your account termination date by email, and you will be able to fully access your account until that date, for example to export any contacts and content uploaded.
• I like what I see but I need an additional feature?
  

  Great - we like nothing more than a challenge! We have custom built modules for dozens of client accounts, typicaly created fast and at very low cost.

  Remember we own all our software code, so adding an enhancement is straightforward 99% of the time. Contact us with your detailed requirements for a quote.

• Can I get my own shortcode number?
  Yes of course, we provide unique shortcode numbers across all UK, US, Australia mobile networks.
• Can I use my existing shortcode number?
  In most cases, yes, but we need details on your shortcode aggregator/provider. Contact us to discuss.
• Can I get it for free?
  

  Sorry no. It costs us to provide the service, software, content hosting and support. We have great entry-level packages, so you should be able to use STARtxt whatever your budget.
